Myrto Grigoriou is a photographer from Larissa, Greece, who has been crafting a unique visual language through her exploration of memory, time and the subconscious. Her journey into photography began with courses from the Museum of Modern Art (MoMa), New York, and seminars at the Athens School of Fine Arts which has laid the groundwork for her first project *Lethe*. This project, a collection of frozen images from her childhood, videotapes taken by her mother, captures fleeting moments that speak to the inevitable erosion of memory, bringing her work close to psychoanalytic discourse. In her more recent project “Somnolence” Myrto delves into the subconscious, exploring the psychological dimensions of dreaming and sentimentality. Over the last five years, her work has been published in various online and print platforms and showcased in group exhibitions in Athens. Grigoriou specialises in backstage documentation photography, collaborating with artists to capture the ephemeral energy and atmosphere of creative processes. She currently works between Greece and Belgium, continuing to merge her documentary practice with a deeply introspective, observational lens.
