Elko Blijweert studied guitar at the Jazz Studio and the Conservatory in Antwerp and has been playing since he was 14 with a series of bands, including Kiss My Jazz, Front 242, Dead Man Ray, Eriksson Delcroix, Gruppo di Pawlowski. He is loved for his talent to add just that (biting, melancholic, atonal, \u2026) musical touch that makes the music stand out from any other band. His virtuoso guitar playing, from jazz and country to metal and noise, make him one of Belgium’s finest guitarists.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Since his 20th birthday, he has been composing and performing music for both theatre and dance (Sam Louwyck, Ultima Vez, froefroe, Voetvolk a.o.). It is thanks to this experience that he acquires a strong dramaturgical insight and develops an interest in movement and spoken word. This influence is evident in his own (collaborative) projects: Lonesome No More, Triadic Ballets, Left Bank Drive, A Closer Walk with Behemoth, De Nor des Hoofds, \u2026: concerts interspersed with movement, film, photography, spoken word and\/or with a theatrical setting.
